TIM "RIPPER" OWENS Denied Entry To UK; Wildfire Festival Appearance Cancelled
June 24, 2016, 8 years ago
Vocalist Tim "Ripper" Owens (Judas Priest, Iced Earth) has been forced to cancel his appearance at Scotland's Wildfire Festival today (June 24th) after being denied entry into the UK yesterday.
The festival organizers issued the following statement on June 23rd: "It is with massive regret that we have to announce that Tim Owens will no longer be able to play tomorrow night's show. We arrived at Glasgow Airport this morning as Tim took time out from his tour of the Ukraine to play for us at Wildfire. Unfortunately, UK border patrol will not let him into the UK at this point in time and although we are trying everything we are able, we have little say in changing the minds of such a powerful U.K. agency. Both Tim and Wildfire would like to offer our sincere apologies at this time."
Owens has yet to comment on the situation. Stay tuned.
On March 5th, Owens teamed up with 3/4 of the Eidolon line-up featuring Glen and Shawn Drover of Megadeth fame for a show at The Rockpile in Toronto, Ontario. Dubbed A Special Night Of Metal, the quartet ripped through a set of classic metal songs. Fan-filmed video from the show is available below.
