TORCH Ink Deal With Heart Of Steel Records
March 5, 2009, 15 years ago
Heart Of Steel Records has announce the signing of long-running Swedish band TORCH for their new album called Dark Sinner.
Torch was founded back in 1980 and became a classic name in the rich European heavy metal scene of the eighties; during its lifetime the band released a MLP (Fireraiser in 1982) and two full-length albums (Torch in 1983 and ElectriKiss in 1984), toured around Europe, did some festivals and played with bands such as MOTÖRHEAD and WARLOCK, making a permanent mark in the Swedish metal history.
After nearly twenty years of silence, original singer Dan Dark started to plan a couple of reunion shows, and in 2005 Torch was officially reunited and back in action with this line-up: Dan Dark: vocals, Tomi Peltonen (Griffen) on guitar, Alx Jonsson (Fatal Smile) on bass, and Kristian Huotari (Scaar) on drums.
They proved to be stronger than ever at the Keep It True festival in Germany.
Excited by the feedback received from both, old and new fans, still interested in getting some good old heavy metal from Torch, Dan Dark and his band-mates started worked on a new album, Dark Sinner, a sort of 'best of' including their biggest and best songs, re-recorded with an excellent production but still keeping close to the original 'feeling', with two additional never-released tracks.
The track-list of Dark Sinner will be as follows: 'Warlock', 'Beyond The Threshold Of Pain', 'Fire Raiser', 'Watcher Of The Night', 'Battle Axe', 'Hatchet Man', 'Gladiator', 'Sweet Desire', 'Electrikiss', 'Hot On Your Heels', 'Sinister Eyes', 'Thunderstruck', 'Beauty And The Beast', 'The Dark Sinner' (unreleased track), 'We Will Fight' (unreleased track).
Following the release of Dark Sinner, Torch will embark on an European tour, plus they will spread some classic Swedish steel at one of biggest Heavy Metal festivals in Europe, the mighty Sweden Rock Festival (June 3-6, 2009)
Dark Sinner will be released on April 3rd.
