It’s June 23rd, the year is 2001, and Bang Your Head!!! USA takes place in Houston, TX. A day of metal mayhem, the festival is a well established annual event in Germany. In the metal community, you often hear the phrase “those crazy Germans.” Well, in the US, Texas is known for being a state of a different breed, so what better place to host a day of metal exaltation and abandonment?

Now, fast forward six years later and Bang Your Head!!! USA once again descends upon the Bayou City in full force. On Saturday, August 25th, at the Meridian in downtown Houston, the gods of all that is heavy have assembled one mammoth beast of a show! In the great tradition of past BYH festivals, this year’s will cover a wide spectrum of heavy music. From doom to death, black to power, groove heavy to thrash, Bang Your Head!!! USA 2 promises to be one hell of a day and night!

This year the show will once again be headlined by HELSTAR, who 23 years ago released their debut album Burning Star, and now, many, many long times later, they are once again gearing up for a new release entitled Sins Of The Past, due to be released November 19th by AFM Records. The band recently inked a 4 album deal with the popular European label and this release of 11 re-recorded, revamped classics, along with two brand new songs, will be followed by a brand new full length studio CD in the summer of 2008!

Also co-headlining this year are SOLITUDE AETURNUS, DUG PINNICK of KING’S X, fresh off of recording his new solo album, and will be backed by the SONNIER BROTHERS BAND, and HALLOWS EVE.

Support bands from all over Texas include AMORICIDE, CRIMSON THIRST, FUNERAL RITES, NINTH KINGDOM, SPIRITUL WINTER, TEMPLE OF WRATH, UNTIL DAWN and WIDE OPEN THROTTLE.

Merchandise will be available from all of the bands participating at the show.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and are $18 in advance and $20 at the door.
