As previously reported, earlier today Star-Telegram's (www.dfw.com) John Austin reported that the Dallas Hard Rock Cafe added a star honoring slain guitar player "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott to its walk of fame in a ceremony Thursday night.

Abbott, along with his brother, drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott, were part of PANTERA, one of the most acclaimed metal bands of the 1990s.

The brothers were performing with DAMAGEPLAN, a band they formed after leaving Pantera, when Darrell Abbott was fatally shot onstage in Columbus, Ohio, on December 8th, 2004. He was 38.

After the star unveiling, Vinnie Paul Abbott and Darrell's longtime companion, Rita Haney, presented the Dean guitar Darrell Abbott used on Pantera's "101 Proof" tour (pictured).

Fort Worth's CBS 11 has since posted video footage from the induction ceremony at this location.
