Update: SEVENTH VOID, Newbury Comics Announce Exclusive Pre-sale Offer For Their Debut Album
April 2, 2009, 15 years ago
SEVENTH VOID, formed by TYPE O NEGATIVE guitarist Kenny Hickey and drummer Johnny Kelly, will release its debut album HEAVEN IS GONE on April 21, 2009 via Big Vin Records, the label formed by ex-PANTERA/DAMAGE PLAN/HELLYEAH drummer Vinnie Paul.
In celebration of their debut release, the rock gods have a couple of tricks up their sleeve. They are currently offering fans a chance to receive an autographed booklet if they pre-order at NewburyComics.com. These booklets are a rock lover's precious gem as these coveted autograph booklets are limited. And finally, a CD-release party will be held at The Clubhouse, the Dallas nightclub founded by Vinnie Paul and his late brother, Pantera guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell on the day of release.
"It's an amazing record," Vinnie recently said. "I mixed the whole thing for the guys. It goes somewhere between SOUNDGARDEN meets BLACK SABBATH meets a little AUDIOSLAVE, with some Type O thrown in there. It's really nice, dark, sludgy... Kenny's vocals are great." Rounded out by bassist Hank Hell (INHUMAN) and guitarist Matt Brown (ex-SUPERMASSIV), Seventh Void continues Type O's tradition of slow, heavy riffs and existential lyrics, but with a slightly sludgier, "stonier" flavor.
