November 11, 2007, 17 years ago
To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the "Threshold of the Usurper" CD, defunct Chicago black metallers USURPER have teamed up with Finnish label, Primitive Reaction to re-issue this classic Usurper release.
Originally, Threshold... came out on Necropolis Records in 1997 and quickly became one of the band's most legendary releases. This was the album that put Usurper on the map with the metal media and was the first release where Usurper toured both the US and Europe to support.
Threshold Of The Usurper is considered by many Usurper fans as the band's heaviest release of their 13+ year career. This CD was originally a mini CD, but for the re-issue the band has included 3 bonus tracks to make this version a full length release.
The track listing is as follows: ''Necrocult Pt 1 (The Metal War)', 'Slavehammer', 'Black Funeral' (MERCYFUL FATE Cover), 'The Dead Of Winter', 'Threshold Of The Usurper', 'Anno Satanas' (Demo Version), 'Stormtroopin'' (Ted Nugent Cover - Previously Unreleased), 'The 13th Son' (Previously Unreleased).
The reissue will be available as both CD and gatefold vinyl and includes extensive liner notes, an extensive interview with Rick Scythe and General Diabolical Slaughter, never seen before photos and new artwork by Juha Vuorma (Skeletal Season artisit).
Usurper will sell a limited edition CD and vinyl version right here through MySpace autographed by guitarist Rick Scythe and General Diabolical Slaughter.
