Venom, led by metal royalty Conrad Thomas Lant (aka Cronos), played a new song, tentatively titled "Rise", at Amnesia Rockfest in Montebello, Quebec on Saturday, June 21.

The song is from Venom's forthcoming new album, which is currently being recorded. The song is thrashy and features a double-bass foundation, alongside an anthemic chorus reminiscent of classic Venom according to BraveWords scribe David Perri who witnessed Venom anxiously-awaited return to Canada. The band are rounded off by guitarist Stuart "La Rage" Dixon and drummer Danny "Dante" Needham. Venom's last studio album was 2011's Fallen Angels.

Stay tuned for a complete BraveWords report on the Amnesia Rockfest and an interview with Venom in the coming days!
