WackenTube, the official video site of Germany’s Wacken Open Air festival, is exclusively premiering Cleveland, Ohio metallers ETERNAL LEGACY's music video, 'The Dead Matter', this month.

The song is taken from the band’s current Lifeless Alive album. The music video and song will also appear on the DVD and soundtrack CD for the dark fantasy film The Dead Matter, scheduled for release on July 30 by Midnight Syndicate Films and distributed in the States by Hot Topic (see movie trailer below).

“I loved this song the first time I heard it and was really stoked to have it be a part of The Dead Matter soundtrack”, says movie director and MIDNIGHT SYNDICATE mastermind Ed Douglas. “When I saw the music video, it just took things to another level. The more I watch it, the more I get revved up for it and the film's release.”

The music video, which includes clips from the movie, was filmed and directed by VENOMIN JAMES guitarist Joe Fortunato. The audio

movie dialogue clips were edited and produced by BREAKER drummer Mark Klein.

“This is my first official Auburn music video”, says Auburn Records president Bill Peters. “We did a couple back in the 80’s with SHOK PARIS but those were in partnership with I.R.S./MCA Records. I am very happy with the way everything turned out. We only had a week to produce the video after the Hot Topic deal was secured to make it in time for the DVD release. Joe (Fortunato) did an incredible job with the filming and editing. His artistic vision and positive approach to the project is the main reason the video turned out so well. Working together we were able to make this happen.”

The movie is about a guilt-ridden young woman desperate to contact her deceased brother discovers a powerful ancient relic that controls the dead. Her dark obsession drags her into the tangled world of two warring vampire lords (Andrew Divoff of Lost, Wishmaster and Tom Savini of Friday the 13th, Dawn of the Dead each with his own sinister plans for the artifact and a vampire hunter (Jason Carter of Babylon 5) who will stop at nothing to destroy it. This chilling gothic dark fantasy co-produced by Robert Kurtzman (creator of From Dusk Till Dawn, KNB FX) features a haunting score by Halloween musicians Midnight Syndicate. It's a mix of classic horror themes with modern twists and a touch of dark humor that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The film also includes cameo appearances by Jeff Hatrix (MUSHROOMHEAD, HATRIX, PURGATORY) and Auburn Records president Bill Peters.

Midnight Syndicate has been creating instrumental Halloween music and gothic horror fantasy soundtrack CDs for the past thirteen years. The group’s music has become a staple of the Halloween season worldwide as well as a favorite in the haunted house, amusement park, role-playing game, and gothic music industries.  Many artists and musicians are fans of the band and have used their music for live show intros, including most notably KING DIAMOND and THE MISFITS.

Eternal Legacy will be performing at this year’s sold out Wacken Open Air festival, scheduled to take place August 5th - 7th, 2010 in Wacken, Germany. The band is set to play the W.E.T./Headbangers Ballroom Stage on Friday, August 6th from 5:25 - 6 PM.

"I'm counting down the days until we leave", says Eternal Legacy guitarist Shaun Vanek. "Playing the world's biggest heavy metal festival is an opportunity of a lifetime for us. We're honored to have been invited. I've been watching live Wacken videos everyday for the past couple of weeks. What a great festival. I'm stoked!"

The band released its second album, Lifeless Alive, on Auburn Records in November of 2009. It was made available internationally this past February.

Eternal Legacy have finished recording and started mixing their forthcoming third studio album entitled Seeking No Peace. Due out this fall on Auburn, the nine-song CD is being recorded and mixed at the band's own Mercinary Studios in Cleveland with guitarist/vocalist Jason Vanek handling production duties. The album’s first single, 'Cauterize', has been completed and will be officially released later this month.?
