YAKUZA frontman Bruce Lamont will begin recording his first solo effort at the end of June with Sanford Parker (MINSK, PELICAN, yakuza) at Volume Studios in Chicago, IL. According to a press release, "musically a departure from the Yakuza material, Lamont focuses less on song structure and more on creating varying moods utilizing voice, horns, guitar, electronic effects, loop pedals, and percussion."

"I construct pieces while they are happening, improv with intention so to speak," he says. "It has open noise and melodic moments, not in any traditional sense. A broad dynamic spectrum of sounds."

Lamont has been performing solo material over the past year playing with a variety of artists such as Scott Kelly from NEUROSIS, Toby Driver from KAYO DOT and performing at the Relapse records showcase at SXSW this year.
