Apparently Norway isn’t solely the province of all things unholy (although damn close, pun intended). In their overpriced liquor cabinets resides plenty of the hard stuff (if you can keep the aforementioned Heavenly rebels at bay) and this strutting four-piece have downed their share. Dripping in bluesy swagger and just as much stagger, we’ve got nine whiskey-hoarsed anthems on fast living and even quicker bouts of drink! Titles like ‘Rooster In The Henhouse’ and ‘Liquored Up’ might just be the motto. Right up Aaron Small’s alley. ‘Rock Vice’ has an ‘80s Sunset Strip pole-dancer’s danceability about it. There’s cowbell on ‘Midwest Punk’, while a pedestrian ‘High On The Bourbon Flame’ even employs a Hammond organ mixed in the background, very surreptitiously. Haven’t heard a guitar flourish like ‘Back In The Saddle’ in at least 15 years! For Johnny Crash, Four Horsemen, Rock City Angels junkies, this is good-time party rock, if in the right frame of (losing your) mind. Amazingly, some of the players are moonlighting from bigger/more well known Bergen-based acts, like Ice-Dale (aka Arve Isdal of Enslaved/I fame).
