November 15, 2022, 2 years ago
Aerosmith has teamed up with the Red Cross to help support relief efforts in Florida following the devastation caused by recenty storms, Hurricane Ian and Hurricane Nicole. The band is donating two community emergency vehicles to be used by the Red Cross of Central Florida. The trucks - two 2023 Chevrolet Silverados - are in production and will debut in spring 2023 and be branded with Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" logo.
Guitarist Joe Perry, who lives in Florida, comments: "Aerosmith and I were devastated by the disastrous impact of Hurricane Ian. Too often we are seeing these disasters increase in frequency and intensity due to climate change, having a strong Red Cross is more critical than ever before. We’re proud to support the Red Cross and we know these vehicles will be an important tool helping people in need for years to come."
On September 8th, Aerosmith finally played their 50th anniversary concert at Boston’s famed Fenway Park, originally scheduled for last year but postponed due to the COVID pandemic. Video from the concert is available for streaming below.
