AHAB Check In From The Studio
March 4, 2009, 15 years ago
German doom metal act AHAB, featuring MIDNATTSOL guitarist Daniel Droste on guitar/vocals and ex-Midnattsol guitarist Christian Hector, have issued the following update:
"Ahoy Seamen,Norz finished the recordings of the bass. It sounds pretty much like something no one would expect of a death and funeral doom band. I like it very much, though!
This weekend Daniel will finish his part of the rhythm guitars and probably he'll also finish all lead guitars with our engineer and drummer Cornelius. The lyrics are written as well. Chris finished the last poem today.
I'll reveal two song titles for you now and here: 'Gnawing Bones (Coffin's Lot)', which is about the tragic 'passing' of Pollard's cousin Owen Coffin and 'The Divinity Of Oceans', which you might already know from our live gigs.
Here's a short bootleg of the song from our gig in Clagary - very Lo-Fi:
There will be a total of seven songs on the album: more than one hour of extreme doom. I'll keep you updated!
This was the Captain speaking."
Cheerio,
Ahab
