Metal Express Radio correspondent Mick Burgess caught up with ALTER BRIDGE drummer Scott Phillps on the band's recent UK tour. They discuss the band's new album Fortress, playing bigger venues, touring with HALESTORM and SHINEDOWN, his side project PROJECTED, and CREED.

On working with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette: "He's got great ideas and, you know, isn't scared he, a lot of producers we've worked with in the past which were great producers but they've always tried to kinda simplify things and make it more easily digestible for radio for the listener. And Elvis is kinda the opposite. He really wants to push, you know, whatever musicians he's got in the studio he wants to bring out the best in them as songwriters but also as musicians."

January 2nd, 2014 will mark the ten-year anniversary of Alter Bridge. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the band is releasing a massive 27-disc box set titled AB X. It will contain 16 DVDs/Blu-Rays, 7 CDs, and 4 vinyl records.
