Rumor has it that bassist Jeroen Paul Thesseling is taking a break from German death metallers OBSCURA. During the last few shows the band worked again with bass player Jacob Schmidt of DEFEATED SANITY, who also replaced Jeroen during their European tour in 2009. No temporary replacement has been announced yet and it's not clear when Thesseling will return to pick up bass duties again.

Omnivium, the follow-up to Obscura's Cosmogenesis album, will see its North American release on March 29th on CD, double LP, and digitally. Two versions of the Omnivium CD are available for pre-order now including the standard and limited deluxe version that comes in a digi-pak with exclusive bonus track, embroidered Obscura patch, guitar pick, and an Omnivium album cover sticker.

The Omnivium artwork was designed and laid out by Orion Landau (ORIGIN, DYING FETUS, ZEKE, DISFEAR).

Omnivium was recorded at Woodshed Studio in southern Germany with engineer V. Santura (TRIPTYKON, DARK FORTRESS). The album is based on Friedrich Schelling’s On Nature’s Connection To The Spirit World.

In other news, Obscura has announced their first tour in support of Omnivium will be a four-week European tour alongside HATE ETERNAL, BENEATH THE MASSACRE, and more. This tour kicks-off in late April and follows Obscura’s first hometown show in four years on March 6th in Landshut, Germany.
