BATTLELORE Frontman's EVEMASTER Issue Tour Report - "They Can't Use The Volcanic Ash As An Excuse For A Ferry Cancellation, Can They?"

EVEMASTER guitarist / BATTLELORE vocalist Tomi Mykkänen has posted a report on Evemaster's recent tour through Finland with THROES OF DAWN. An excerpt is available below:
"Drive to Oulu was quite easy one. Few beers, music and breaks. After arriving in the venue we realised that there wasn't actually any mentions about our gig that night. Nowhere. Good sign, I'd say. Load-in and after some building up the system Mikko realised that the screw of the kickdrum stand was screwed (pun intended). So, some duct tape and it was back in usable mode. Soundchecks (excellent sound again by Henry). Toni filmed us during the soundcheck and gig as well so maybe we'll be releasing some kind of a video of 'New Age Dawns' at some point. Then we went to the dinner and to our surprise it was not pizza/kebab this time but Indian Restaurant. Excellent! Great dinner and then back to the venue. Lots of laughing for the writings on the backstage walls and designing our own. Few beers and Jallu and hornakossu drinks. By the way, it's nice to have striptease club's backstage/smoking area close to band backstage. The we went onstage and played a nice gig to nice crowd. Not too many hassles. Sope said that playing sober was not his niche but for some reason he didn't feel like drinking. Met a few nice people after the show. And a few shots of salmari and fisu and laku. ToD played extremely cool gig again. Juhis' security locks lost their security and his Les Paul tried to reach the ground... I rushed on the stage and the guitar was back in action without any distributions to Juhis' playing. Good team work!Load-out at around 4am. Wake up at 8:30, quick breakfast and then bus towards Helsinki as the later ferry that Henry had booked was cancelled (Again?! They can't use the ash as an excuse for a ferry cancellation, can they?) so we needed to leave early to reach the previous one going to Tallinn. Nothing special happened during the trip. Well, we did send one page of porn to the skies with a balloon. Wonder where it landed?"
