As previously reported, BOBNOXIOUS - featuring RAZOR frontman Bob Reid - are currently on the road in Canada in support of their new album, Rockaholics. Reid has issued the first installment of his tour diary:

Wednesday, May 2nd:

"Depart RV Canada at 12:16 pm; ¼ tank of gas, and no propane. Bob assigned to call cop station at 1:00pm. Cop has to call back…he does…done.

I crack a bud. Fittingly…the first sound of the mighty cap…let the show begin. I realize I have left all my personal CDs at home in the shack…for fuck sakes (#1). Then our 1 inch thick steaks, cheese slices, choc. milk and zambucca has been left behind as well… for fuck sakes (#2).

Sudbury…The Coulson…Load-in 4:45pm…somebody’s fuckin drums left on stage.

Load-in, drum guy comes and gets shit off stage, we put our gear up. Soundcheck…my amps buzz more than I am.soundcheck was alright. Get rid of noise...(thank shit). Wait for pizza…party in RV…5 outta 6 vote and I’m out. Looks like there’s a golf game in the works…some beers…Wylie is wapping himself into a coma again.

Play gig, get drunk, play some more, load-out. Pain in the ass with the door locking in and out. “The gear is packed”…. downstairs party - too fuckin’ smokey for me; Smokers - 4, Second Handers- 0. Through the blue clouds a few pics of the festivities …chick/waitress from bar very ‘in your face’-- just ask Tom .

Last man down - 5:10 am."

Thursday, May 3rd:

"I hear the door to our room open, followed by Tom’s morning announcement, which bellows moderately compared to the thunder cracking snore of the mighty giant Gavin, who fortunately for me has bunked a mere 8 feet away from my bed.

'20 after 10,' Tom says…

Funny, I sorta recall a conversation before the show …went sorta like…

Tom: 'What time ya wanna head out tomorrow morning, 8:00 or so..??'

Bob: 'What?...8:00 …ok man, but I don’t see that happening. I’m alright with that, but it might be hard getting some people up…'

Anyway…yup…gotta go…cough-sorry-just clearing 37 cigarrettes. Come to think of it, didn’t we have a non-smoking room? Whatever happened to that?

Emerging from darkness, I escalate towards the top of the stairs and reveal myself onto the sunny streets of Sudbury. I watch band and crew appear from directions possessing Tim Horton coffee in hand…but alas,no lovin'.I needed the walk anyway…

Returning with my French vanilla (and 2 small coffees for whomever- hypocrite I defend) we enter RV for destination ThunderBay. Oops…I spy with my little eye…a liquor store…yes...agreed. Whiskey, Rum, and Zambucca .

One last stop for gas and propane before leaving 'the moon' and we be gone…

OK, one more stop…this time smoked rainbow trout. Wonder what the poor people are doing. Why, getting back in the RV of course. Did I mention we got paid $93 dollars from the door last night? A Long Way To The Top indeed.

Perched on a cooler I type from the back of the bus…eating fish , I decide to make a drink…good call. Whiskey and coke, and I’m thinking smoke… ahh routine...

After a last gas-up before nightfall, we come across AC Family Lodge, a group of small cabins for rent settled beside Hammer Lake on #17 highway. We park the RV in front of our cabin and pull out the barbecue, food and booze and turn on the tunes. How convenient that the AC Family Lodge is also an LCBO outlet…yeah, that’s what we thought too. So, after a round of shooters, beers and burgers , Wylie, Stan, Bob, Tom and Gavin check out the lake… it was time for some fishin. After realizing I had forgotten my fishing rod at home (for fuck sakes #3) I purchased a rod and reel from Henri the lodge owner, and upon his advice, bought my only lure.

'This is what ya need. The Pike like this one,' he says.

Well, not tonight they don’t. Nothin’! That’s alright, back to the Lodge for some partying. And yes we did...

Last man standing - 3:20am."

Friday, May 4th:

"7:20am...awakened suddenly by the thunderclap of a toilet seat slamming. I then hear the stomping of giant feet, followed by the noise of luggage noise as I open my eyes to see Gavin struggling to carry his personal bags in and around the beds that are accompanied by partied-out sleepers, but not if Gavin has something to say about that…

'Gavin! What the fuck are you doing man?'

'You said we gonna go early in the morning'

'No I didn’t. You went and crashed first, you got sleep- so let the rest of us…'

I closed my eyes…useless…I’m up now! So, I grab my 'new' pole and head down to the lake. A little while later, the ‘non-sleeping’ giant along with Tom join me. To Tom’s surprise I pull out a small 3 pound pike…hey-this lure does work! I placed the pike on shore and try a few more casts…as I was about to head back, a very large pike followed my lure in to shore. As I fixed my eyes on him I said aloud…'Holy fuck, look at that!'

The fish struck my lure only 6 feet from me. It was huge…HUGE! I’ve fished an awful lot over my life and I’ve never seen a freshwater fish that big before. It snapped my line in seconds. Ten pound test line with a steel leader on it…Holy shit! And Tom and Gavin witnessed it….

Shit!! My new lure…my only lure…gone! After seeing such an awesome creature, I felt keeping this 'little fish' was a crime. My plan was to eat it, but seeing that it was still alive I let it go, walked back to the lodge and bought another lure from Henri. He laughed….'I told you there are some big ones in there.' I then realized the pictures of some big fish taped to his wall….yup- that would be nice.

After trying some more, getting snared and losing my second lure, I retire back to the Lodge/RV and proceed to cut up some peameal bacon and whip up some scrambled eggs for me and the boys…everyone is up by now, coffee is brewin' and so another day has begun. Last man for showers is Todd. God, I realize who takes the longest in the can now... lesson learned for future morning wake up routine. So far Todd is known as the 'sleeper in the shotgun chair' and the 'bathroom procrastinator'.

The gear is packed!

After a farewell handshake and a quick picture with Henri the caretaker, we hit the Trans-Canada Hiighway and head for Thunder Bay. A few hours into the drive, Todd once again is accused of nodding off in the passenger seat, riding shotgun as Dee drives on.

And the ribbing continues…"
