BON JOVI To Take Part In Live Earth Concert In India

According to Billboard.biz, BON JOVI will join Bollywood stars for a one-off Live Earth concert in Mumbai, India, on Dec. 7.

Live Earth India will take place at the 20,000-capacity Andheri Sports Complex. Bollywood star AMITABH BACHCHAN is also on the bill.

The event will be co-produced by Mumbai-based event-management company WizCraft Entertainment along with producer Kevin Wall, who co-organized the original series of Live Earth concerts last summer with former U.S. vice president Al Gore.

Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, who directed the Oscar-nominated Elizabeth, will serve as the event's creative director.

A WizCraft spokesperson tells Billboard.biz that participation by other domestic and international talent is also being finalized. WizCraft say other details such as ticket pricing and sponsorships are being worked out.

News Corp.'s Mumbai-based broadcasting venture Star India will exclusively simulcast the event live on the network's music outlet Channel V in India; and the Hindi-entertainment channel Star Plus, which is also be available in the United Kingdom and the Middle East via cable and satellite platforms. The event will also be on pan-Asian English-language entertainment channel Star World. Microsoft Web portal MSN is the exclusive global broadband partner for Live Earth India.
