Canadian '80s rockers BRIGHTON ROCK have announced a Firefest 2012 warm-up show for Toronto, due to take place on October 13th at The Rockpile in the city's west end. This will be the band's only Canadian appearance. Go to this location for venue and ticket information.

BW&BK; scribe Carl Begai recently caught up with guitarist Greg Fraser to discuss FRAZE GANG's new album. During the interview Fraser commented on Brighton Rock's upcoming appearance at Firefest 2012 and the possibility of a new studio album:

"Last October they approached us and asked what it would take to get us over there. We negotiated with them and they said ‘Yeah, let’s do it.’ It’s the original band and we’re playing on the Sunday. We're probably going to surprise people over there, because it's not like we hung up our guitars and decided 'Hey, let's get it back together' 15 years later."
"We're not writing stuff for a new record, but if this show created some kind of a buzz where a record company approached us about doing a record and was willing to finance it, we'd do it. For us to take money out of our own pockets to do it, there's no way. That'll never happen. The band broke up on great terms, so it's not like we're saying 'I can't stand that guy...' We're all still buddies."

Firefest 2012 which will take place October 19th – 21st at Rock City in Nottingham, UK. Bands due to play the festival also include TYKETTO, GOTTHARD, DANGER DANGER, STAGE DOLLS, ROYAL HUNT, FIONA, FARCRY, MITCH MALLOY, XYZ, SANTERS, ROBIN BECK, WORK OF ART, JOHNNY LIMA, TEN, DANTE FOX, and LIONVILLE.
