CAVALERA CONSPIRACY - the project featuring SEPULTURA founding members Max (guitar, vocals) and Iggor Cavalera (drums), alongside GOJIRA's Joe Duplantier (bass) and SOULFLY guitarist Marc Rizzo - have issued the following update:

"Cavalera Conspiracy has been deemed an 'inappropriate' band to perform with JUDAS PRIEST on their Priest Feast 2008 tour dates in Australia and New Zealand, and have thusly been forced to cancel their appearance at the previously announced tour dates in the southern Pacific.

Although Cavalera Conspiracy had several amazing and successful dates with their brothers in Priest throughout Eastern Europe, apparently the band has been deemed too inflammatory to open for Priest in Australia and NZ.

So, with that said, this post is an apology to the fans in Australia and New Zealand for the cancellations.

The Cavalera brothers will be back soon (hopefully with a more reasonably priced tour)!"

As previously reported, upcoming dates on the band's Infliktour include:

August

3 - San Diego, California - House Of Blues
5 - Hollywood, California - House Of Blues
7 - Tempe, Arizona - D-LOW 2008 at the Marquee Theatre
9 - Frisco, Texas - Ozzfest 2008 at Pizza Hut Park

Max, Iggor and Marc are joined on the European tour by bass guitarist Johny Chow (of FIREBALL MINISTRY) in place of Joe Duplantier of GOJIRA. Although Joe D. has been playing bass for Cavalera Conspiracy so far, his recording commitments this summer for Gojira's forthcoming fourth studio album unfortunately forced him to have to sit out of the tour.
