CHAOSANCT - New EP In The Works, Details Revealed; New Guitarist On Board
March 24, 2009, 15 years ago
CHAOSANCT, the UK-based act which features among it's members, former CRADLE OF FILTH guitarist James McIlroy and former BIOMECHANICAL drummer Matt C., have issued the following update from McIlroy:
"Well, I know there's not been many updates recently, but that doesn't mean we've not been doing anything! So, what's new? Well, first off, we've been rehearsing with the new addition to our ranks, Paul Scanlan (SKALDIC CURSE, ex-ACKERCOCKE) and marvelling at his blistering playing. He's fit right in and we couldn't have asked for a better replacement!
Secondly, we've taken this new injection of life to start work on our second EP. The songs for it have been around for a while, and we're now happily committing them to tape in our little hideaway studio in North London. Despite a few setbacks (amp problems, and teething issues with our studio) we can announce that drum tracks are almost complete, and that we've started tracking guitars and bass with an eye to letting loose dave's vocal chords on it in a week or two. So far it's sounding awesome, and putting shit eating grins on our f(e)aces! We've really worked on the guitar sound this time, and it's sounding absolutely crushing, so we're all very excited!
The EP will contain 3 - 4 tracks, and a nice little interlude, which should be cool, as we'd always wanted to do expand the dark directions intro into something a lot more epic, but never got the chance last time around. The working titles (by no means the final titles!) for the tracks that we are aiming to put on the EP are: 'Shattered', 'Oppenheimer', 'Epic', 'Death By White Ace' (anyone who's seen this in budget off licences and tried it will know what this entails), 'Trinity' (interlude).
We expect to have this available towards mid-end of May when we start gigging again, and it'll be a heavier, darker and faster facet to us, complete with hyper speed guitar work courtesy of Paul Scanlan. It's already sounding great, and we haven't even mixed or mastered any of it yet!
Thirdly, we are thinking of updating our previous outting to reflect the band where we are now. As we're recording, we figured we may as well revisit the older tracks and update them a little bit if we have enough time, so this is also on the cards. So, to all of you that have the old EP, if we go ahead with this, then you'll be one of the few owners of that limited run!
Lastly, we're still organising gigs here and there, and may be doing a short run in another country, which is to be confirmed!
Basically, we're not dead, just hard at work!"
