CHEAP TRICK's RICK NIELSEN To Sit Out Two More Shows As He Continues To Recover From "A Minor Procedure"
December 8, 2022, 2 years ago
On November 4, Cheap Trick announced that guitarist Rick Nielsen would be sitting out the band's shows "for the next week", having undergone "a minor procedure".
The band have issued the following update: "Six weeks ago Rick had a procedure that has required him to stay off the road until fully recovered. Unfortunately, Rick still needs a little bit more time and will not be out with us this week. Robin Taylor Zander will be moving to lead guitar for the next two shows. We appreciate the continued support."
ROCK'N Vodka representatives recently issued the following update:
"ROCK'N Vodka had a 720 bottle activation at a liquor store with a Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick bottle signing. This is the first bottle signing that we have done since the pandemic began. Rick was in such high demand that a long line had formed an hour before the event even began. People from other states traveled far just to meet Rick. We had to cut the line off due to the amount of people that kept coming in. We anticipate many more bottle signing activations with the amount of success that our first one had. We have similar activations in Iowa on December 17 and in Oklahoma on January 6. Adding Miles and Daxx Nielsen to the ROCK'N team will allow us to execute similar activations."
