CHTHONIC Release Video For 'Takao'

Taiwanese metallers CHTHONIC report:

"The music video for the new single, 'Takao', is online, and this single is digitally released with a bonus track that features ENSIFERUM sing along in special English choruses.The original version of this chorus is totally Taiwanese folk style, but the version with Ensiferum's singing sounds so Finnish folk!"

Leader/bassist Doris Yeh states: "So amazing, we definitely want to share this version with our fans!"

Not only does Ensiferum sing on the bonus version, YU TIEN, a popular Taiwanese Enka singer, has sung on the original version of 'Takao' as well.

'Takao' is a song about the Taiwanese soldiers departure from the Takao Harbor to join the Pacific War as Japanese Imperial Army.

"Yu Tien's voice perfectly provide the passionate vibe of the song", Doris said. "But not just passionate, there are many kinds of emotions of these soldiers, they might be struggling, passionate, or confused. You can find all these feeling in this song."

In order to show the different emotions of this song, Chuang Chih-wen, the director of the video, filmed this clip in a very different way. There are many slow shots with many different objects such as eagle, cherry blossoms, and even Type Zero fighter aircraft, which is considered as one of the most classic fighter aircraft during World War II.

During the filming, the 80-year-old character who has kept working very hard with the crew. He didn't want to rest for hours. After the filiming, he said, "My father was a soldier of Takasago Army, now I'm playing his role, I have to make it perfect!"

His comment touched everybody in the studio.

"I know that we are doing the right thing for my fellows." said Freddy Lim, the vocalist.
