In the interview footage below, CHTHONIC singer Freddy Lim discusses the band's new album, Takasago Army. The footage was recorded before the band's unplugged performance in Yilan, Taiwan on August 27th. Check out interview and performance footage below:

Takasago Army is out today in North America. The ten-track album marks the band's sixth full-length. Produced by Rickard Bengtsson (ARCH ENEMY, NEMESIS) at Sweet Spot Studios in Halmstad, Sweden, the record's concept completes a trilogy that binds together the band's Seediq Bale and Mirror Of Retribution albums, released in 2007 and 2009 respectively.

Takasago Army is currently streaming in it's entirety at this location.

Bassist Doris Yeh comments: "We're very proud to present our latest album Takasago Army; it's a masterpiece of the elements of Orient folk and extreme metal. The background revolves around WWII, and we want to reveal the spirit of finding your own dignity through the most difficult and dangerous mission on the battle ground. The closer you cone to death, the more you know who you are."

Takasago Army tracklisting:

'The Island'

'Legacy Of The Seediq'

'Takao' (see video below)

'Oceanquake'

'Southern Cross'

'Kaoru'

'Broken Jade'

'Root Regeneration'

'Mahakala'

'Quell The Souls In Sing Ling Temple'

After touring with Arch Enemy in 2010, Chthonic reunite with Angela Gossow and Co. for a one-off show at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London, England on December 6th, as part of Arch Enemy’s Khaos 2011 Tour, with WARBRINGER also featuring on the bill.

This show follows in the wake of the TURISAS' Stand Up And Fight UK tour (October/November), on which Chthonic will be special guests, with KIUAS opening up the bill.

A new single from Takasago Army will be issued in support of the Turisas tour. Titled ‘Broken Jade’, this epic track features the WW2 surrender speech from Emperor Hirohito, and it will be available with both English and Taiwanese vocals.

In other news, Chthonic are running a cool competition to fly one lucky winner and friend to Taiwan for a very special show.

On October 22nd, Chthonic will have a special outdoor concert in Sing-Ling temple in Puli, Taiwan. Sing-Ling temple is an ancient battlefield and a historical landmark of Puli town. As well as being an essential part of Chthonic's last three albums, a trilogy story, Chthonic has also written two songs that adopt Sing-Ling temple in the titles. One is 'Sing-Ling Temple' from the album Mirror of Retribution, and the other one is 'Quell the Souls in Sing-Ling Temple' from the new album, Takasago Army.

A concert in Sing-Ling temple is definitely one of the most important moments for Chthonic, and it’s not just for Taiwanese fans, but also open to fans from all over the world. Now Chthonic have 2 flight tickets to give away to the oversea fans!

To join the contest, all you have to do is to upload a video clip of you singing Takao’s Taiwanese chorus part.

We have two examples for you, see below:

Send your video link to chthonicnews@gmail.com before September 21st. Chthonic will announce the winner on September 22nd on Facebook. The more creative your video is, the better chance to win the flight ticket!

For those who need some help, here is the pronunciation of Takao’s Taiwanese chorus lines:

To?-káng khí hong-íng

Tông-tông lâm-jî beh tshut-tsing

Khì-sè hám-t?ng Tha-khá-ooh

Tsê khai hiòng lí guá tsiân-tîng
