Spain's Hall Of Metal webzine has issued an interview with CRYPTOPSY drummer Flo Mounier. The following is an excerpt:

Q: Surely you have a lot of things to say in favor of the band about the great controversy your new album is generating. With The Unspoken King you have made a twist in your sound, turning your classical technical death metal into some sort of brutal deathcore metal. Why have you take that brave decision knowing in advance it would be a quite controversial turn?

A: "We play music and aren’t very worried about labels and catagorizing our style. Lets put it this way we’ve played and still play Extreme Music. The controversy wasn’t planned, the music was.

Q: Although lots of people have labeled your new sound as commercial metal stuff I don't agree at all. It is not what I really expected from you, it sounds up to date and modern but I don't really think your new stuff is easy to listen or MTV metal music as many people have claimed. What do you think about it? Did you find your new album more commercial sounding than your previous efforts? Apart from 'Bemoan Of The Martyrs' I don't find the album something suitable for all kind of audiences.

A: "You’re right it isn’t commercial it still remains Cryptopsy, but we did incorporate very catchy parts to some songs. This choice was to play and experiment with extremes in dynamics and emotions."
