DEADLOCK Announce Parental Leave Substitute; Video
October 30, 2014, 10 years ago
Deadlock frontwoman Sabine Scherer has a baby on the way. Since they don’t want to cancel next year’s live shows, Deadlock looked around and found the coolest baby substitute in the world.
Sabine Scherer on her parental leave substitute Margi Gerlitz: "Please welcome Margi! I’m glad with all my heart that we’ve found someone so convenient so quickly! Until I’m back: support her! She is awesome! Assure yourself at the upcoming live shows!”
Sabine will still have a supportive part in the band and will join the songwriting process for the successor of The Arsonist (Napalm Records). Watch the band's statement with Margi below:
In early September it was announced that founding Deadlock drummer, Tobias Graf, had passed away at the age of 35.
The band issued the following brief statement: “No further words...you will be missed brother.”
Tobias Graf had left Deadlock this past April. The German modern metallers released The Re-Arrival in August, the band presenting their fans an impressive overview of their past work, which goes much further than the usual "Best-Of" releases. The 30 tracks on The Re-Arrival includes rare and previously unreleased demo tracks from the very early days of the band’s history, complete re-arrangements of Deadlock classics and three brand new tracks with the new drummer and wunderkind Werner Riedl, which marks another step in the band’s evolution and which shows again, that guitarist Sebastian Reichl is a highly gifted songwriter if it comes down to hit potential of the tracks.
