San Francisco Bay Area punk/hardcore outfit THE NERV is proud to announce the addition of Andy Galeon as their new drummer.

Galeon is well-known as the original founding drummer of the groundbreaking Bay Area thrashers DEATH ANGEL as well as THE ORGANIZATION, and several other projects. Most recently, Andy has been involved with END THE SUFFERING, a metal/thrash/punk band, and FOS ROCK, a "multi-sonic" blend of Hip-Hop, Funk and Metal.

The Nerv has fast been rising in the ranks of punk/hardcore circles, including recent high-profile shows with THE TUBES, AGENT ORANGE, DOA, HAUNTED BY HEROES, and DRI. The band is currently in the studio recording new material for an upcoming record. Galeon's drumming will be heard on these new tracks.

Nerv bassist Ian Larkin comments on Galeon coming aboard: "He’s a great fit. He brings the proper dynamic to the pulse of our sound, and the right attitude!"

Galeon: "I want to fit my aggressive playing style into their already powerful groove—and propel it forward into the future. I think it’s a really good fit! They are a tight unit, and I identify with that. I also identify with their attitude!"

A video filmed by Reality Check TV of an impromptu performance by the The Nerv with Galeon on drums at Oakland Art Murmur - a street-art/music festival in Oakland, CA on July 6th - can be seen below. Galeon’s first formal appearance with The Nerv, in support of veteran punkers THE DICKIES, is set for Saturday, July 27th at Thee Parkside in San Francisco. A subsequent show is slated for Wednesday, Augunst 28th at Submission in San Francisco with MORAL CRUX
