March 2, 2011, 13 years ago
Ex-MEGADETH guitarist Jeff Young and female vocalist Twinkle Yochim, collectively known as SOULS ON 11, have recorded THIN LIZZY's 'Don't Believe A Word' as a live single in tribute to guitarist GARY MOORE. Check it out via the widget below, or go to this location.
Moore was a major influence on a legion of guitarists, including Young. 'Don't Believe A Word' is one of Thin Lizzy's best known songs and Moore performed both a blues and hard rock arrangement of the song regularly in concert. Souls On 11's performance honors Moore's rendition and was recorded live in the studio on February 22, 2011- captured on classic Analog tape. Gary Moore died of a suspected heart attack, at the age of 58 during the early hours of February 6, 2011. A forthcoming video for this track is in the works which fuses studio, rehearsal, and live footage of their most recent L.A performance with Beth Hart.
Souls On 11 is the brainchild of Jeff Young and to date has featured live and studio performances by soul-singer Twinkle Yochim (DICKEY BETTS), bassists James LoMenzo (WHITE LION, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, Megadeth) and Dave Filice (RICHIE KOTZEN), and drummer Jeff Bowders (PAUL GILBERT).
