Former INNER THOUGHT, DOWNFALL Musician Unveils A CLEAR CONSCIENCE Project
November 10, 2008, 16 years ago
Toronto-based musician/writer Dragan (Ed) Balog (ex-INNER THOUGHT, DOWNFALL) has announced a new creative musical endeavour A CLEAR CONSCIENCE. Says Balog: "Currently the project will begin with material for a three-five song demo CD, which I hope to have out by spring, before heading over to Europe in April, where I will perform one small acoustic-only show in Belgrade, Serbia; during my book reading promotional visit back home, for my first book Cathartic Windows and new book – A Pale Grey Sky (due early 2009). Some working titles include: 'A Clear Conscience', 'Under The Shadow Of The Sun' and 'Under The Shelter Of A Wall'. I’ve decided to handle all the rhythm guitars/bass/vocals and programming myself this time around, all within the comfort of my home computer and mini studio (Traction and Reason recording software, are truly a force to be reckoned with) until such time warrants a live act assemble. There are a few guest appearances on the demo, including a few Swedish friends and Canucks, all well known in some musical circles internationally. The material and direction headed for A Clear Conscience is a fusion of Balkan-inspired vocals with heavy, dark and melodic pattern shifts, which are immersed in haunting echoes of many genres - which before beginning this new entity, has garnered label interest in Europe already."
Balog also ran the labels Utopian Vision Music and Black Mark Productions in North America in the '90s.
