Former MEGADETH guitarist Chris Poland (OHM, OHMPHREY) will see his POLCAT project make it's live New York City debut on Saturday, July 21st and Sunday, July 22nd at The Iridium.

Four of the jazz world’s most unique artists coming together to find a common ground. That is what created PolCat. The band consists of the astounding talents of fusion guitar icon Chris Poland, Grammy-nominated sax giant Frank Catalano, internationally-acclaimed solo artist/bassist Sean O’Bryan Smith, and drum phenomenon Jim Gifford.

PolCat takes their extremely diverse backgrounds of solo performance coupled with a musical repertoire spanning every inch of the music industry to create their own take on the next step in contemporary jazz fusion. Four composers, locked in a room, and created pure music from its most basic properties.

The PolCat shows are also very special as legendary fretless bassist, Percy Jones (BRAND X, TUNNELS) will be a special guest. Jones, a true pioneer on the fretless bass who’s unique approach influenced everyone from Jaco Pastorius to Michael Manring. Furthermore, Sean O’Bryan Smith is being replaced by incredible OHM:/Ohmphrey bassist, Robby Pagliari for these PolCat shows.

The excitement continues on Monday, July 23rd, as Chris Poland and the LES PAUL TRIO will be joined by special guests Percy Jones (Brand X, Tunnels), Mike DiMeo (THE LIZARDS, RIOT, MASTERLAN), and PolCat members Frank Catalano, Jim Gifford, and Robby Pagliari for a different musical stew that is sure to be unique and exciting.
