February 5, 2010, 14 years ago
The mighty FOZZY, featuring front man and WWE Wrestling Superstar Chris Jericho along with Stuck Mojo mastermind/guitarist, Rich ‘The Duke’ Ward, bassist Sean Delson, and drummer Frank Fontsere, recently released their fourth studio album titled Chasing The Grail through Riot! Entertainment on January 26th. The record had a #6 debut on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart and peaked in the #1 slot on Amazon UK’s Hard Rock & Metal MP3 Albums chart last week.
Chris Jericho had this to say about the band’s second truly original release, "I'm ecstatic to hear the news that Chasing The Grail debuted #6 on the Billboard Heat Seekers chart. In the 10 year history of Fozzy, this is a milestone that shows how far the band has come and it's a great indication of where we are going. I would like to give a personal thanks to all our fans; past, present and future, for helping make Chasing The Grail a success right out of the box. Fozzy would also like to thank the great people at Hot Topic for helping make Chasing The Grail the success that it is and we look forward to making Team Fozzy as much of a hit as Team Jacob and Team Edward."
'Martyr No More' which features a guest solo from ANNIHILATOR guitarist Jeff Waters was the official theme song for the twenty-third annual WWE Royal Rumble that aired on January 31 and is currently available for sale on iTunes. WWE.com joined Jericho at the record release party at The Arrow in NYC where the festivities were temporarily shut down by the police due to crowding of the venue. Once some people were cleared out, the party raged on well into the evening with guests like Richard Christy (CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED/The Howard Stern Show), Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens (ICED EARTH/HAIL!), Pauly and David Z (ZO2 / Z Rock on IFC), Comedian Big Jay Oakerson among others.
Chris Jericho are doing signings at select Hot Topic locations to meet & greet their loyal fans. Upcoming appearances are scheduled for Independence Center in Kansas City, MO (February 15) and South County Center Mall in St. Louis, MO (February 22). Chris will also be appearing on February 8 at FYE in Clearwater, FL.
