Ghoulunatics bassist Gary Lyons has issued the following: "Yep, you heard right, we will be hitting the stage for one last gig at the Trois-Rivieres Metafest 2008!
We were offered this show a couple of months ago, before the end of our farewell tour, and since then we finally accepted to do it one last time. We’re all excited to be able to play with all these great bands at the biggest metal festival in the province of Quebec. This will be our 4th appearance at the fest, and we can’t wait to see all our fans from the Trois-Rivieres area & from all across the province again! And to top it all off, we will be playing the same night as our friends in Cryptopsy and Voivod, with who we will be sharing the stage for the first time!! This will be a (party) night to remember for sure!
We will be selling what's left of our merchandise really cheap, so come see us at the merch table early if you want to get your hands on some T-shirts, hats, DVD or CD's. We're on stage at 8:25 PM, so don't be late!!
I know we have said it before, but please believe me when I tell you that this is definitely the last show for Ghoulunatics.
So if you couldn’t come out to one of the shows on the Farewell tour, this one is for you and it's for all ages!!
In other news, I have been jamming with my ex-Ghoulunatics band mates Brian Craig (drums) & Pat Gordon (guitar) along with our friend Yannick Pilon (guitar, from Montreal's Arseniq 33) for a while now. We have been writing lots of riffs and will be cutting a demo soon in order to audition singers for this new band of ours, which has yet to be named.
We’ve gone back to our roots as they say, playing some very Black Sabbath, Down, Clutch, Kyuss, etc. influenced tunes… As long time fans of this style of music, we’re all very excited to be writing and can’t wait to see where this thing will take us…"
