July 27, 2004, 19 years ago
ElectricBasement.com (www.electricbasement.com) report that despite the lack of management and/or a label, HARD ECHO have secured an opening slot on the second date of W.A.S.P.'s U.S. tour, in San Diego on July 16th. They have also been asked to support DOKKEN when the band visit San Diego on August 21st. Also, Hard Echo has been approached to headline a Metal Festival in Ensenada, Mexico in late October/early November. More details soon.
The band are currently writing new material for their second album, with studio time booked for November.
Norm Campbell, Hard Echo bassist and founder comments on the group’s success, "Our goal for this year was to CONQUER San Diego, to open for major Metal acts that come through our home town. We have definitely accomplished that already and continue to do so. Pretty much everyone here has heard the name Hard Echo and associates it with a quality Metal product. The surprise is that word is spreading in Mexico too! Our goal for next year (already in the planning stages) is to hit the road either on our own or supporting a major act as well as the release of our second CD. Our long-term goal has always been to build a world-wide following of fans to appreciate and expect quality Metal, not those who willingy digest anything that MTV, VH1 or the local radio stations try to jam down our throats."
