Philip Lawvere, the artist behind such classic album covers as KREATOR's Pleasure to Kill and CELTIC FROST's Emperor's Return, has come out of retirement and will design the as-yet-untitled new HIRAX album, which is scheduled for a spring 2013 release.

Lawvere had done stunning illustrations for numerous albums and is best known for a slew of thrash metal offerings released on Noise Records.

Hirax commented: "We couldn't be happier to have Philip Lawvere illustrating the cover of our new album; after getting Bill Metoyer to produce it, this is truly the icing on the thrash metal cake!"

Hirax have released a new single, 'La Boca de la Bestia (The Mouth Of The Beast)', available via iTunes at this location.

A very special limited edition 12" vinyl version of the single with bonus tracks is also planned for a December 14th release on Black Devil Records. This will include the following tracklisting:

'Part I: The Conquest - Guitar Intro'

'Part II: Thunder Roar

'Part III: La Boca de la Bestia (The Mouth Of Te Beast)'

The single will be included on as-yet-untitled new full-length album. 'La Boca de la Bestia (The Mouth Of The Beast)' was recorded, produced and mastered by Bill Metoyer at Skull Seven Productions.

The new album will be released worldwide via singer De Pena’s own label, Black Devil Records.

Hirax recently announced their appearance at Zoombie Ritual Festival, taking place in Rio Negrinho, Santa Catarina, Brazil from December 14th - 16th. Hirax will perform on Saturday, December 15th. Check out a show poster below:
