IRON MAIDEN Frontman BRUCE DICKINSON - "We've Talked About Doing The Entire Senjutsu Album Start To Finish, But Not This Time Around"

Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho welcomed Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson to his Talk Is Jericho podcast on January 14th. Check out the interview below.

Jericho: "It’s the return of Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson, and he’s dishing the details on his brand-new one-man show, An Evening with Bruce Dickinson, which kicks off this Monday, January 17th, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He’s doing 34 dates, crisscrossing the States, and all the ticket info is at IronMaiden.com! You’ll hear what inspired this outing, how his love of theater, acting and improv influenced the show, what he adapted from English writer/actor Quentin Crisp, and why Bruce is dead-set on having the audience involved in every show. Bruce also speaks about his love of fencing, and what keeps him competing to this day. He has stories about rehabbing a recent Achilles injury, and how that impacted the Senjutsu sessions and subsequent tour. Plus, Bruce is also talking about his podcast, Psycho Schizo Espresso, breaking down the origin of 666, and revealing some details about of Iron Maiden’s future plans!"

With regards to the aformentioned plans for Iron Maiden, Dickinson revealed "We've talked about doing the entire Senjutsu album start to finish, but not this time around. We all appreciate that that is something that really diehard fans will probably love and other people will go, 'Hmmm, I'm not gonna go see that.' So, the answer is you play smaller venues so that they sell out with just your diehard fans. 'Cause it's a musical thing to do."

Bruce Dickinson will be taking his spoken word tour, An Evening With Bruce Dickinson, on an extensive US and Canada starting this week.

Split into two parts, the first section of the show sees Bruce taking a humorous and often satirical look at the world from his own very personal perspective, treating the audience to private insights into his drive and ambition, peppered with plenty of Maiden anecdotes, and a myriad of other experiences encompassing not just the giddy heights but also the extreme lows, told first-hand in his inimitable anarchic style, punctuated with photographs and sometimes even erupting into song a-capella, to illustrate a point.

The final section of the evening is devoted entirely to a Q&A session, with the opportunity to pose questions on any subject whatsoever. As Bruce’s answers will all be completely improvised – the more left-field and quirky the question, the more interesting and compelling the response is likely to be!
