"It Was Chaos, It Was Pandemonium, It Was Cacophony" Says Rockline About Classic VAN HALEN Interview Re-Airing
May 25, 2006, 18 years ago
As previously reported, billed as the "wildest Rockline ever", US-based syndicated show Rockline are re-airing VAN HALEN's 1984 interview on May 31st. Singer David Lee Roth, bassist Michael Anthony and drummer Alex Van Halen were promoting their legendary 1984 album. A description of the show from the Rockline website is as follows:
"It was chaos. It was pandemonium. It was cacophony. It was absolutely crazy. It was Rock and Roll debauchery at 120 db. And we loved it. It was an unforgettable night with David Lee Roth, Alex Van Halen and Michael Anthony down south in Hot ‘Lanta as they joined us long ago in 1984 to promote the album of the same name, a five star album by anyone's evaluation, and a five star Rockline back in the day when the only rule was anything goes. It all went that night as the alcohol flowed and a woman disrobed. Right in front of our naked, steaming ears as Diamond Dave would say. Dave brought a boom box with him (remember those?) and kept us in stitches with sound bites and song clips all night long. Halfway through the show a Georgia peach came in and lap danced him. She was naked and steaming and no one was looking at her ears. We're not making this stuff up. Don't need to. With Van Halen back then, the truth was far more fun than any fiction anyway. The proof is in the listening, if you're up for it. So, we've decided to play it one more time as it remains one of our most requested shows ever. There were things happening that whacked out night that are better left unsaid, so just use your imagination when you listen. It won't be hard, trust us. Then there's the music. Some of the greatest Rock ever created. Jump, Hot for Teacher, Panama and more. This show is a legendary Rock and Roll party, captured forever through the magic of Memorex and rebroadcast simply because it should be and because we can.
Cut through the chaos, the pandemonium, the cacophony and the craziness and relive the way it once was when Rock was a lifestyle choice and an obligation to be upheld. Join us for this Special Encore show with Van Halen on the next Rockline!"
