Guitarist JEFF LOOMIS (ex-NEVERMORE) is currently holed up at Fastback Studios recording his eagerly awaited sophomore solo album.
Footage from the studio of vocalist Christine Rhodes, who previously contributed to Nevermore's Dreaming Neon Black album, can be seen below:
Loomis has uploaded new photos from the studio, which can be found at this location.
Studio footage of SOILWORK drummer Dirk Verbeuren laying down tracks for the record with producer Aaron Smith (7 HORNS 7 EYES) is available below.
Sick Drummer Magazine has also posted video of Verbeuren, tracking drums at Fastback Studios.
Verbeuren, who recorded eleven songs over four days, said about the project: “It was a great experience tracking drums to Jeff’s awesome songs. I didn’t receive all of the material beforehand, so the spontaneity was energizing. I'm in love with the Tama Superstar kit we got in for the occasion, it sounded truly amazing. Musically speaking, I think Jeff stepped it up big time on this record. Lots of inspired, diverse music and mindblowing fretwork to look forward to!”
Check out the footage below:
Loomis recently issued the following update:
"Doing drums, as most of you know, is Dirk Verbeuren. I don't think there's really anything else I can add to that. His name just sort of speaks for itself. Up until about two weeks ago, I was planning on doing the bass parts myself but then saw this amazing bass player on YouTube and said to myself, 'I need to have him on the record'. I got in touch and was thrilled to find out he was into it. I'm really looking forward to hearing what he's going to be bringing to these songs."Fans should keep their eyes peeled for previews of developing songs, studio updates and additional details. The album is set for release in spring 2012.
