JOHN 5 – “I Don’t Think NAMM’s Gonna Last Much Longer”

Guitarist John 5 (Rob Zombie) and Eddie Ojeda (Twisted Sister) appeared on the Hangin’ & Bangin’: Artists On Lockdown online show, where they were joined by Vinny Appice, Carmine Appice, and host Ron Onesti. During the chat, they conversed about the annual music convention NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) show and its postponement to June 3-5, 2022 at the Anaheim Convention Center due to COVID-19.

"I think personally that… NAMM's been going on since around, like, 1955 or '56, but you know what? I don't think NAMM's gonna last much longer, you guys,” said John 5. “I know it sounds terrible to say. And not because of coronavirus or anything like that. But I just think it's so expensive to put on for these companies. I really don't think it's gonna hold on much longer. What do I know? But just seeing how things are going, probably another five years or something."

The 2021 NAMM convention was the first in its history to be held entirely online.

John 5 recently announced that he is going out on tour in North America in 2022 with The Haxans (Piggy D and Ash Costello) on select dates. Tickets are available from December 17 at 10 AM, EST at John-5.com.

The North American run will see John 5 & The Creatures hit 27 stops across North America on The Sinner Tour. The tour kicks off in Roseville, CA on April 21 and will culminate in a very special 3-night run at Iridium in New York on July 9, 10 and 11. It also includes two shows supporting Fozzy in Houston (4/29) and San Antonio (4/30) a performance at world-renowned festival Welcome To Rockville in Daytona Beach, FL (5/21).

John 5 will also be welcoming new creature to the band. The Sinner Tour will be the first time fans get to see new drummer Alex Mercado perform live as part of The Creatures.

Says John 5, “I’m so excited to hit the road and see old friends and new friends alike. I’ve been so thrilled by the reaction to the release of Sinner, I can’t wait to get on stage and truly bring the songs to life for the first time with my fans. Having The Haxans join us on this tour is going to be so fun. Their brilliant “monster party” energy will be a perfect opener for my crazy stage show. This tour is going to be a lot of fun. Don’t miss it!”
