According to CBS, JON BON JOVI won’t need a ticket to Cleveland this year. But the New Jersey-born rocker can expect to spend some time in Washington.
The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame failed to induct the band from Sayreville into the 2011 class on its first nomination. The hall instead picked NEIL DIAMOND, ALICE COOPER BAND, New Orleans musician DR. JOHN, DARLENE LOVE and singer-songwriter TOM WAITS.
President Barack Obama named Jon Bon Jovi to the White House Council for Community Solutions.
Bon Jovi performed during Obama’s inaugural concert. The Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation works to alleviate poverty and homelessness across the US.
The Asbury Park Press reports the rocker said he has seen “firsthand the powerful impact when people from the public, private and nonprofit sectors work together.”
