JUDAS PRIEST Guitarist K.K. Downing - New Q&A Available
October 2, 2008, 16 years ago
JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing has updated his website with new entries in his Ask K.K. Downing column. A couple of excerpts follow:
Q: Throughout your entire career with Judas Priest, what song was the most fun to record?
Downing: "That's a tough one but Chris Tsangarides says when I was recording the solo to 'Victim Of Changes' he saw me throwing the same shapes as though I was on the stage. It was then that he asked his boss if he could work on the rest of the album with us. I guess he thought that we were a bit mad to do that in the studio but I obviously thought that was what you were supposed to do therefore I was obviously enjoying myself to the max."
Q: Where do you spend your down time and what do you usually do?
Downing: "I guess like it is for so many these days, time is our enemy. We seem more than ever to spend too much time working, opening bills and junk mail, taxing and insuring the car, going to the supermarket etc. etc. And doesn't it seem to take forever these days to get anything done? Anyway I am fortunate to have lots of fields and woodland with lakes and streams that I just like to go walking in and through even when it’s raining just to savour what nature has given us. But as you say I am quite the sporty type also and I like to cook and to be honest I don't mind mowing the lawn or driving a tractor or even painting the garden shed. So to sum it up I think I enjoy doing everything, nothing really seems to be a chore as long as I am not standing in a line."
