A 37-year-old vintage KISS concert poster from the band's New York club days is being auctioned online. The poster was hand-designed by founding KISS member PAUL STANLEY and was printed in 1973 by a friend of the band's original drummer, PETER CRISS.

The three performances advertised on the poster took place over Labor Day Weekend 1973, at the legendary Coventry nightclub in Queens, New York. The 800-seat club catered to the underground New York glam rock scene of the early 1970s and bands such as the NEW YORK DOLLS, KISS and even CYNDI LAUPER all got their start at Coventry.

These late summer concerts were the final time KISS performed live, prior to recording their first album, which was released five months later, in February 1974. The poster was found in the collection of one of KISS's very first roadies. An actual picture from the 1973 Coventry concerts advertised on the poster can be seen at left (click image to enlarge).

The auction can be viewed here.
