KREATOR Mainman Mille Petrozza - "This Album Is Even More Brutal Than Enemy Of God"
June 9, 2008, 16 years ago
As previously reported, German thrash legends KREATOR will enter the Titonus studios in Berlin on July 20th to record the highly anticipated follow up to their 2005 release Enemy Of God. For the yet untitled album the band will be working with top German producer Moses Schneider.
Leader Mille Petrozza spoke to BW&BK; recently about the album: "We have 10 songs. There will only be 10 songs on this album. We won’t do the 12 song thing and two songs are just okay. Moses Schneider. is a really good German producer, and he gets bands to do a live performance, rather than the Pro-Tools thing. We’re gonna do a real recording, a real live recording, on analogue equipment, and we’ll have it mixed by Colin Richardson. I’m real excited about that because he’s one of my favourite metal mixing guys. I’m really looking forward to that. This album is even more brutal than Enemy Of God. People are gonna be surprised. I don’t want to say too much. You’ll hear it soon.”
Kreator plan to hit the road in support of the as-yet-untitled new album in January. "It starts January 24th, and we’re coming out with a big package," says Petrozza. "My dream is to have a pure thrash metal package, with some younger bands and some older bands. We’re talking to people now. There’s some great thrash stuff in Brazil. I love Warbringer too, and Evile. I like Municipal Waste a lot too. They remind me of old Tankard or something. It’s really exciting to see, though. The old attitude is coming back and kids really seem to get it again. You get these people that are full-on thrash metal fans. They’re 18 years old with all the denim and leather and the patches, and the music sounds like 1986. I’m really excited about it!”
