LAMB OF GOD - Randy Blythe Performs With CANNABIS CORPSE At Benefit Show
September 2, 2012, 12 years ago
A benefit concert, dubbed the Randy Blythe Support Show was held this past Friday, August 31 at the Canal Club in Richmond, Virginia to help raise funds for LAMB OF GOD vocalist Randy Blythe’s forthcoming legal trial in the Czech Republic.
Blythe joined headliners CANNABIS CORPSE onstage for a special performance of ‘Blunted At Birth,’ fan-filmed footage of which can be found below:
Blythe was arrested in the Czech Republic on June 28th and detained in a Prague prison on charges of causing, “bodily harm of the fourth degree, resulting in the death of a fan” during a May 24, 2010 Lamb Of God concert. He was eventually released on bail on August 2, but will have to return to the Czech Republic to stand trial. If he is found guilty, Blythe could serve a maximum of ten years jail.
In addition to the benefit show, Lamb of God has also launched an eBay auction to assist with Blythe’s legal fees. All five members of the band have contributed personal items and memorabilia to the auction, including guitars, basses, microphones and drum equipment. All items donated were used either on tour, in the studio or in a video.
Furthermore, several rock and metal heavyweights, including MEGADETH, MACHINE HEAD, SLASH, GWAR AND FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH have donated items, ranging from guitars and basses, to paintings and signed skate decks.
Alternatively, Justice Now, the site set up for donations, will remain open for those wishing to simply donate to Blythe’s defense fund.
