MAMMOTH WVH Performs Live As A Trio For The First Time; Fan-Filmed Video
March 31, 2022, 2 years ago
On March 30th, Mammoth WVH - led by Wolfgang Van Halen - co-headlined the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey as part of the Young Guns Tour alongside Dirty Honey.
Mammoth WVH normally takes the stage as a five-piece. But since this North American trek started in February, they've been performing as a quartet due to guitarist Frank Sidoris already being on tour with Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators. In fact, a cardboard cutout of Sidoris can be seen adjacent to the drum kit in the fan-filmed videos below.
However, due to the absence of guitarist Jon Jourdan, last night Mammoth WVH played live as a three-piece for the first time ever! Furthermore, Wolfgang delivered a solo rendition of his song "Distance", which he introduced by saying, “I know there’s some parts missing. But I’m doing my f*cking best, man. I’m so sorry. When it comes to this next song, there were so many parts that I decided to strip it down."
Mammoth WVH also paid tribute to late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, with a cover of "My Hero".
