MAYLENE AND THE SONS of DISASTER's new album, entitled Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster: II debuted at # 156 on Billboard's Top 200 chart this week with sales of just under 6,000 copies.
According to a press release, out now via New Jersey's Ferret Music, "II is an album that is conceptual in nature, expounding on the true tales of 1920's gangster Ma Barker and her prohibition era real-life crime family. The record's gritty musical shootouts are filled with intricate guitar riffing and whiskey drenched grooves, while the lyrics take your imagination back to a time when the exploits of gangs of criminals gripped the American people and press."
In addition to the album's Billboard Top 200 debut, the record placed at #3 on Billboard's Heatseeker (Top New Artist) Chart and was the top debut this week for a new artist in both the alternative and hard rock worlds.
Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster is currently on tour alongside FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES and HASTE THE DAY. Following the massive North American trek, which is scheduled to wrap on May 5 in Poughkeepsie, NY, the band will perform amongst the featured acts at the 2007 Bamboozle Festival, set to take place on May 5 and 6 at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, NJ.
