MEGADETH is confirmed to headline the Maquinaria Festival at Club Hipico in Santiago, Chile on Saturday, November 12th. The full line-up for the festival is yet to be announced. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, June 15. The Maquinaria Festival is an event which gathers different musical styles and brings the grandeur of European festivals of music, mixing different forms of art and consciousness.

Earlier today Megadeth bassist David Ellefson checked in from Vic's Garage in San Marcos, CA - the band's personal studios - to give fans a quick update on the recordings of their new album.

"We're working on lyrics," Ellefson updates. "All the drums are done, the songs are arranged and sounding awesome. You guys are gonna be stoked."

Megadeth are currently recording their 13th album with Johnny K, who has worked with the likes of DISTURBED, 3 DOORS DOWN and FINGER ELEVEN. The album is expected to surface in the fall via Roadrunner Records.

When asked about the new material, Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine told BraveWords.com: "I’ve never set out to do a record and wanted it to be like, ‘it needs to be fast’ or ‘it needs to be faster than the last record’ or ‘it can’t be fast. It needs to be slow and heavy’ or ‘you’ve never done a concept record – what the hell is wrong with you? Why not do that?’ For me, music is music. It’s like when you put seeds into the ground. You never really know what’s going to break the surface. I still love the serendipity of making a song and not knowing what’s going to happen. You know Shawn Drover, a fellow countryman of yours and amazing drummer who is mind-blowingly good, just left today. We just finished the last track.”
