According to Inmycommunity.com.au, promoters of a heavy metal festival have moved the event from Claremont Oval to Arena Joondalup because of noise concerns.

The Town of Claremont reluctantly approved an application from the Claremont Football Club, which would have charged organisers about $30,000 to use the oval, to allow Monster Management to host No Sleep Til Perth at the venue on December 12.

However, the promoters released a statement last week revealing the band line-up (featuring MEGADETH, NOFX, DROPKICK MURPHYS, PARKWAY DRIVE, THE DESCENDENTS AND ALKALINE TRIO) for the two-stage event and listed Joondalup as the venue for the Perth leg of the national festival.

Club chief executive Todd Shimmon said the company was concerned that Claremont Oval was too close to homes and residents would be inconvenienced by the noise levels.
