Melissa Ferlaak's PLAGUE OF STARS Ink Deal With Zerobudget Records
November 26, 2012, 11 years ago
Vocalist Melissa Ferlaak (ex-VISIONS OF ATLANTIS, ex-ECHOTERRA) recently launched a new band, PLAGUE OF STARS, also featuring WE ARE LEGION guitarist Will Maravelas. The group have inked a deal with Zerobudget Records, who will issued their debut, When Morning Came, in June 2013.
A message from the band reads: "So we just signed to a label - what does that mean? Well Zerobudget Records is not just a clever name. Haha. ZBR is a collective of musicians who work with each other for mutual benefit. Its a not for profit label. So what does this mean to you the great people who have showed your support. We can still use any support you can give. ZBR hooks us up with great deals on business needs, but the costs still greatly come out of our pockets. We sincerely appreciate all the support this project has been receiving and we will be releasing an album in June as planned. We hope we can line up some killer shows in and out of the country also. ZBR is an awesome label and a great help. We are excited! Can't wait to record."
An excerpt of the band's bio states: In 2012, four months before the impending Mayan apocalypse date, a Plague Of Stars was first engineered by alchemist Melissa Ferlaak and vibratory physicist Will Maravelas. The two discussed the initial formula then brought in two additional scientists, resonance engineer Christopher Quinn (AESMA DAEVA, A WHISPER IN THE NOISE, DODD) and metallurgist/percussive engineer Aaron Lanik (We Are Legion) to add their expertise to the formula.
Initially concocted were two surprising reactions, 'In the Pines' which replicated earlier known reactions produced by LEAD BELLY and 'When Morning Came', an original design that surprised those who came in contact with it. These two strains of the virus would soon be engineered to include multiple strains of the infection to be released into the public in June 2013 following a top secret campaign by private donors, who believe this biochemical weapon is the answer to the struggles we currently face.
