METALLICA - Lars Ulrich Admits It Was Their Fault Jason Newsted Left The Band

While Lars Ulrich says that bass player Robert Trujillo has been amazing for METALLICA, the drummer admits former bassist Jason Newsted copped a raw deal when he left the band.
"Jason was an incredibly dedicated musician but I don't think we took advantage of everything he had to give," Lars admitted to Triple M's Higgo backstage at the Rod Laver Arena before their first Melbourne show."Ironically his departure brought the band closer because we realised he was leaving because we weren't capable of dealing with each other."
