BW&BK; has received the following press release from Massachusetts based punk-rock-metal band MONGREL:
In keeping with their history of social commentary and activism, the Massachusetts based aggressive punk/metal band Mongrel will be taking part in a benefit concert on Tuesday, February 16th at the Middle East (downstairs) in Cambridge, MA to help raise money for the recovery efforts going on in Haiti. "After seeing the utter destruction and devestation that has occured in Haiti from the recent earthquake, we wanted to do our part to help out and jumped at the chance to be a part of this show." Also on the bill for this 18+ event are: Breathing Process, Once Beloved, Feral Children, Meat Hammer, and Ribbs. A $10 minimum donation is requested for admission to this show.
Mongrel's history of activism has included being involved in benefit shows raising money and awareness for the West Memphis 3, RAINN, American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society, local animal shelters, Toys for Tots, etc.
Currently Mongrel has signed on with Thom Hazaert at Loudside Artist Management, is looking into a new label and/or distributor and completing mixes for their new full length album This Means War which will be coming out this spring. This Means War follows up the Revenge EP which was released this past October and is available on iTunes, amazon, and mongrel.bandcamp.com where you can download the EP with name your own pricing (including free).
