New York’s THE RESISTANCE To Release EP Of PANTERA Covers

Long time veterans of the local New York scene The Resistance featuring Dennis Dinunzio (Steel Mountain Crossing, Wett Cherry) will release an EP titled Futile featuring their renditions of classic Pantera songs in November. Vocalist Snake, drummer Bosco, and bassist Fuzzy Bob recorded five songs last month and look forward to playing select shows in the New York City and Long Island area this holiday season.
33 years after the infamous Satan In The Suburbs murder of Gary Lauwers and suicide of Ricky (Say You Love Satan) Kasso, vocalist Snake and guitarist Dennis Dinunzio break their silence at the place where it all started at.
"Snake went to school with both of them and I would see them hanging out at the park; they weren't exactly metal heads and there was no black circle that I knew of, Northport was always a dingy druggie town and the park was 99.9 percent Grateful Dead heads on acid singing hippie songs and throwing frisbees. The last time I saw them one was wearing a Billy Idol t-shirt and the other was wearing tie dye. They did listen to AC/DC and Ozzy [Osbourne], but at the time there were other bands like Venom and Mercyful Fate and Bathory that were clearly not on their radar yet. If they did listen to that stuff it was very late in their lives and only because we were playing it to freak the hippies out. They would take extreme amounts of acid and smoke dozens of bags of angel dust at a time. Their brains were fried."
The Resistance New EP featuring covers of Pantera will be available on Bandcamp in November.
